Why did Causeway Bridge tolls go up?

MANDEVILLE, La. (WGNO) — Increases in the prices of Causeway Bridge tolls went into effect on Thursday, Nov. 2.

The staff at the Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission say they have to adjust the tolls every seven years to stay up with inflation.

“The increase that was finally decided upon by the financial analyst is just about 11%,” said Carlton Dufrechou with the Greater New Orleans Expressway Commission. “We’re going from $3 to $3.40 if you have a toll tag. Or, if you have cash, it’s from $5 to $6.” (Click here to read more)
